You can also do the strenuous Soberanes Canyon and Rocky Ridge Trail loop.Īt gates 18 and 19, you will find Garrapata State Beach, great for walking, sunbathing, picnicking, sand play, and photography. Here you can hike the short Garrapata State Park Bluff Trail, or the Soberanes Point Trail around Whale Peak. At gates 7 and 8, about five miles from Carmel Highlands, is beautiful Soberanes Point. There are two main areas to explore at Garrapata State Park. If you are just visiting for the day, drive up to a viewpoint and snap photos.
